Moderator Rules
Moderator FAQ
-
- What is a moderator?
- A moderator is a volunteer who helps enforce the site rules.
-
- What is the difference between a moderator account and regular account?
- A moderator account has a "Kick" and "Ban" button next to each user, allowing the moderator to kick and ban users who break the site rules. Moderators can be distinguished from regular users because they have a blue "M" badge. Moderators can not block anyone from seeing them, and they cannot be blocked by anyone except for verified models.
-
- Who can become a moderator?
- Please see our Moderator Application for moderator eligibility requirements.
-
- How can a moderator lose their mod status?
- KICKING A REAL FEMALE USER BY MISTAKE OR FOR ANYTHING OTHER THAN WHAT IS DESCRIBED AS A RULE VIOLATION IN OUR MOD RULES. THIS MISTAKE WILL COST YOU YOUR MOD STATUS, GUARANTEED!!! Please read the rest of this page for the complete list.
-
- Can a moderator have more than one moderator account?
- No. Users are only allowed to have one account with moderator powers.
-
- Can moderators require users to do anything, such as forcing them to answer questions?
- Absolutely not! This would be considered abuse of power. Moderators can warn users if a rule violation is observed, but mods cannot threaten to kick or ban someone if they refuse to answer their question or show something on webcam.
-
- Can moderators kick for extra letters or single letter messages (ex. "yesssssss" or "a")?
- No. We DO NOT consider repeating/extra letters or single letter messages to be spam. While this may have been considered spam in the past, it is no longer the case since we removed most word censors.
-
- Can moderators kick for using all capital letters in chat (ex. HELLO)?
- No. We DO NOT consider using all capital letters to be spam.
-
- Is simulcasting / streaming on multiple websites allowed?
- Yes, as long as the name of another website does not appear in the broadcast.
-
- Can moderators call out "suspicious token behavior" in chat, such as high Token transfers?
- Absolutely not! We have numerous customers who purchase large amounts of Tokens to share with their favorite models (some of whom are "High Rollers"). Verified models are permitted to share tokens with whomever they wish. If you suspect suspicious behavior such as money laundering, please report your findings to our staff. Do not ever make negative comments in chat about high token purchases or transfers in chat. THIS MISTAKE WILL COST YOU YOUR MOD STATUS, GUARANTEED!!!
-
- What kind of links can users post in their profile and over their webcam?
- Any link is allowed as long as it is not to a website which promotes malware, illegal activity, spam advertising, or fake webcam sites which are designed to trick people into signing up. If a moderator observes a violation in a profile or webcam link, they should report the user for to us for abuse but not take any other action. If the reported profile is found to be in violation, we will either remove the offending content or block the user.
-
- Is a moderator allowed to kick or confront a user over something posted in their profile?
- No. If a moderator observes something in a user's profile which he/she believes violates our rules, they should report that user to us for abuse, but not take any other action. If the reported profile is found to be in violation, we will either remove the offending content or block the user.
-
- Can moderators kick a user more than once for the same offense?
- This is called double jeopardy, and it is not allowed. Moderators cannot repeatedly kick someone after they have served their 15 minute timeout, unless each kick is for a new violation with proper warning given if applicable.
-
- Can moderators kick for something posted in a profile or webcam message, even if it breaks the rules?
- No. Moderators cannot kick anyone for posting in their profile or webcam message, even if it breaks the rules. If you observe this type of rule violation, please report the offending user for abuse.
-
- Can moderators kick users for disagreeing with them?
- Not unless the user is extremely rude.
-
- Can moderators kick users for watching their webcam?
- No. If you have a problem with people watching your webcam, you should not become a moderator! Unlike regular users, moderators do not have the ability to block people from watching them without kicking the user from the chat.
-
- Can moderators break any of the site rules themselves?
- Not under any circumstances.
-
- Can I become a moderator just to protect myself from being kicked?
- No. While we do not require moderators to always enforce the rules when they are online, if we find that you are using your moderator status to protect yourself from being kicked when you break the rules, your moderator status will be permanently revoked.
-
- Can moderators kick or ban other moderators?
- No, this is not technically possible.
-
- Can moderators kick or ban verified models?
- Usually not, as most verified models are protected from kicks. If you observe verified models who cannot be kicked breaking the rules, please report them for abuse. If a verified model receives multiple complaints for rule violations, his or her kick protection will be removed.
-
- Why is it that some VIP users cannot be kicked?
- Some long time VIP users who have bought a certain amount of tokens are protected from kicks. If you observe VIP users who cannot be kicked breaking the rules, please report them for abuse. If a protected VIP user receives multiple complaints for rule violations, his or her kick protection will be removed.
-
- I am a moderator and I saw another moderator breaking the rules, should I confront him, or what should I do?
- A moderator should never confront another moderator in public chat. If you observe another moderator breaking the rules, please report him or her to us for abuse, and we will take appropriate action.
-
- Do moderators always have to act as a moderators when they are online?
- No. Moderators are not required to always perform moderator duties, and can act like regular users at any time if the choose to.
-
- Should moderators kick users for violating site rules which are not listed in the Moderator Rules?
- No, moderators can only kick for reasons specifically mentioned in the Moderator Rules, as some site rules are meant to be enforced only by admin staff. If a moderator believes a user has violated a site rule which is not listed in the Moderator Rules, that user should be reported for abuse to our admin staff, and no other action should be taken. Examples of such violations would be a user with multiple registered accounts or a cartoon for a profile picture.
-
- What is the purpose of the Moderator chat, and how do moderators use it?
- The purpose of the moderator chat is to communicate with other moderators regarding official moderator related issues such as a spammer who is hopping rooms to avoid being kicked, questions related to site moderation, notifications of warnings given, etc. To use this feature, moderators have the option to change their chat from public to moderator only by changing the P to an M on the left side of the main chatbox. Messages sent through the moderator chat are seen by all moderators who are logged in at that time no matter what room they are in. Misusing the moderator chat could result in loss of moderator status, so please use this chat sparingly for what it was intended.
-
- What is the difference between a moderator and a site admin?
- A site admin is an employee of Cam Media, such as a customer service representative or developer, with full authority to act on behalf of the company, and make decisions regarding the operation of the site. Moderators are independent volunteers who help enforce certain site rules according to the Moderator Rules published on this page.
-
- If a moderator's mod status is revoked, can he or she ever become a moderator again?
- If a moderator's mod status is revoked, he or she would become eligible to apply as a moderator again after 60 days, unless determined otherwise by our staff. We reserve the right not to grant moderator status to any user for any reason.
Moderator Guidelines
-
- You must be at least 18 years of age to enter and use this website.
-
Any user who looks underage without any reasonable doubt, kick/ban immediately without warning. If you have doubts, do not challenge the user by asking how old they are (since they will most likely not tell the truth), instead watch for how they behave and what they say in chat. Most often you will realize the user is underage just by how they talk to others. Also watch for their replies if others ask how old they are, and if they say under 18, kick or ban them immediately without warning.
-
- Do not play recorded videos or record other users.
-
Never ask any user to "prove" they are not a video by typing in chat, waving, holding up two fingers, etc.. This is not allowed by moderators or anyone else under any circumstances, and should be considered harassment which is grounds for being kicked or banned. Just to clarify, if a user simply asks another user to wave, wink, jump, etc., it's OK, but if they ask the same thing with the words "prove, real, video, fake", it is not allowed. It is the mod's job to do the proper detective work to determine if a user is a video, and it is not the user's obligation to prove anything to anyone (they are there to have fun). To be kicked for being a video, it has to be clear that the video is recorded, such as watermarks of other sites (like: this video was uploaded to xvideos.com...) or if it is clear that it's a professionally recorded video of more than one person. If it's just a female by herself, then please do not ask her to prove anything or kick her unless the video replays in the exact same sequence or you are 100% sure without a reasonable doubt it's a recorded video. Mods should not give any warning in chat if they are 100% convinced a user is a video, and silently kick or ban the user. If any user ever mentions in chat that they are recording someone or it is proven that they have done so in the past, they should be kicked and banned. One recently added exception to the no video rule is video games. If a user points their webcam to a video game they are playing live, it is NOT considered a violation of the no video rule.
-
- Do not be rude, obscene, or ask if someone is real.
-
As a rule of thumb, if you observe a user urinating, defecating, engaging in any type of beastiality (sexual acts with animals), engaging in hate or racist speech, showing extreme violence, showing children, or using illegal hard drugs while broadcasting, that user should be kicked or banned immediately without warning. For rude comments to other users, the mod should try to give at least 2 warnings in chat before kicking. Asking other users to prove they are real, or accusing them of being fake or a video should be considered the same as being rude with exactly the same consequences.
-
- Do not post spam or multiple duplicate messages.
-
Promoting third party websites, posting any type of third party advertising, and posting the same exact message more than three times in a row is considered to be Spam. Before kicking users for spam, the mod should give them at least two warnings in group chat. Posting extra letters/the same characters in a row (ex. "mmmmmmmmmmmmm"), single letter messages (ex. "a"), or using all capital letters is NOT CONSIDERED spam.
-
- Do not log in under the wrong gender if you are a male.
-
This rule applies only to users who have their webcams turned on (i.e. the numbers 1, 2, 3, 4 appear next to their username). If you clearly see that a male user is logged in as a female, TS who does not look like a female, couple, or group, kick the user immediately without warning. You should always wait a few minutes before kicking couples or groups, as sometimes only one person will appear on cam and then their partner will appear a bit later (if after a few minutes you do not see the 2nd partner appear, kick that user immediately without warning). Male users logged in as TS who do not look like women or are not dressed like women should also be kicked immediately without warning. Just seeing an empty webcam without anyone in it is not a reason for kicking a user unless it's a couple or group with an inactive webcam for an extended period of time, so please make sure you clearly see this rule violation first before kicking. Female users who are logged in as a male, couple, group or TS should be left alone, as this rule only applies to males. When kicking a user for logging in with the wrong gender, please leave the gender option blank unless they are a registered user, and you want to permanently change the gender in their profile (in which case you would mark their correct gender before kicking them).
-
- Do not request or post personal info including phone numbers or email and IM addresses such as Skype.
-
Asking for or giving their phone numbers, email, Skype, MSN, Yahoo, or any other messenger is considered personal information. As a rule of thumb, mods need to give users asking for or posting personal information 3 warnings in chat before kicking them. Offering or asking for payment outside of the site is considered sharing or asking for personal information, and is not allowed. Posting links or references to other websites in profiles is OK as long as each link or reference appears only once, it is not meant to promote a competing website, and the linked page does not contain prohibited personal information. When verified models promote their activities on social media or other websites owned by us like AdultVideos.com, UsedPanties.com, LiveCam.com, PrivateCams.com, and others, we do not consider it to be a violation of the rules. Offering SnapChat for Tokens is OK, as long as it is only done in the profile, and the SnapChat account does not reveal any personal details such as real name and contact info. Posting links or mentioning any external site such as OnlyFans which accepts direct payment is not allowed. If you observe a violation in a profile or webcam link, please report the user to us for abuse, but not take any other action. If the reported profile is found to be in violation, we will either remove the offending content or block the user.
-
- Are users allowed to smoke marijuana, or take prescription or other drugs while on cam?
-
If the activity or drugs are illegal in the user's home jurisdiction, they would not be allowed to do it on cam, as we do not support or condone any type of illegal activity. For example, without viewing an actual prescription, which would violate our rule of sharing personal information, we have no way to regulate the legality of any prescribed medication. As marijuana is now legal in many parts of the world and users can easily travel from one jurisdiction to another, we have no way to regulate the legality of this activity for individual users. As with the basic premise of guilt and innocence under United States law, all users are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
Losing Your Moderator Status
-
- DO NOT KICK A REAL FEMALE USER WITHOUT ANY VALID REASON. THIS MISTAKE WILL ALWAYS GET YOUR MOD STATUS REVOKED, GUARANTEED!!!
-
- DO NOT KICK ANY USER UNTIL YOU PERSONALLY OBSERVE THEM VIOLATING A RULE. It is not enough for someone to complain about a user or if you suspect that a user is logged in with the wrong gender, you have to actually observe the violation yourself before kicking.
-
- DO NOT KICK ANYONE FOR HAVING A DARK OR INACTIVE WEBCAM, EVEN IF THEY APPEAR TO BE SLEEPING. Users are not required to broadcast, so you are not allowed to kick for inactivity.
-
- DO NOT KICK A FEMALE USER FOR BEING LOGGED IN UNDER THE WRONG GENDER SUCH AS COUPLE, TS, MALE OR GROUP. Some female users may want to remain anonymous, so they should be left alone. Couples and groups can be logged in as female as long as at least one female is visible at all times, and noone appears underage.
-
- DO NOT KICK A USER FOR SPAMMING OR BEING RUDE WITHOUT FIRST GIVING THEM AT LEAST TWO WARNINGS. Some users may not realize they are spamming or being rude, so you should always try to give them a few chances before kicking them.
-
- DO NOT KICK OR THREATEN TO KICK ANYONE FOR VIEWING YOUR CAM. Part of being a moderator is not being able to block users from watchin your cam, and using your mod powers to get someone to stop watching you is not allowed. If you have a problem with random users watching you, then you should not become a moderator.
-
- DO NOT STALK OR USE YOUR MODERATOR POWERS FOR PERSONAL GAIN. Regular users are not able to block moderators from viewing their cams, so moderators have to be exra careful not to make them feel like they are being stalked. An example of stalking is following a user who has not broken any rules from room to room and watching their webcam after being asked to be left alone. An example of using your mod powers for personal gain is kicking a user for talking to someone you like, kicking a user for favoring someone else over you, or threatening to kick a user who hasn't broken any rules if they don't do what you ask.
-
- DO NOT POST DEROGATORY COMMENTS ABOUT OTHER USERS. If you have a problem with any user, please report it to support and under no circumstances take it upon yourself to post warnings or any negative information about this user in public chat.
-
- DO NOT BE RUDE OR CONFRONTATIONAL TO OTHER MODERATORS. If another moderator is rude to you or does something you disagree with please report that user to support instead of being rude or confrontational in public chat.
-
- DO NOT PROMOTE OR RECRUIT FOR COMPETING WEBSITES. Moderators are not allowed to promote or recruit for websites that are not a part of our network.
-
- DO NOT HARASS MODELS OR INTERFERE WITH THEIR ABILITY TO WORK. Moderators should support models and tippers, as they make it possible for our site to exist.
-
- DO NOT BREAK THE SITE RULES YOURSELF. Moderators are required to follow the same rules as everyone else.
